Kickin’ Chicken Club

Who doesn’t love a cheesy toasty, made even better with lashings of Cholula® Original Hot Sauce drizzled over that oozy melted cheese.

Servings: 4


  • 8 slices sour dough bread, buttered
  • 4 slices sharp Cheddar cheese/ tasty cheese
  • 250 g grilled chicken breast
  • 4 slices hickory smoked bacon, crisply cooked
  • 1 medium brown onion
  • 3 tbsps butter
  • Cholula® Original Hot Sauce
  • Ranch dressing (optional)
  • Pinch of sugar


  • 1 Melt butter in medium frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and toss to coat with butter. Cover and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and tender.
  • 2 Increase heat to high. Add sugar and cook, stirring constantly 10 minutes or until caramelised. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • 3 Layer cheese, grilled chicken breast, bacon, and caramelised onions onto unbuttered side of bread. Drizzle generously with Hot Sauce and ranch dressing, if desired. Top with second slice of bread, buttered side up to make 4 sandwiches and place on a preheated griddle or in a large non-stick frying pan and toast, turning, until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
