Bacon Flatbread

  • Original Recipe



    For the dough
  • 4 cups flour, plus extra for dusting the dough
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 12 ounces water

  • For the toppings
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 8-10 leaves small fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced thin
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Cholula® Original Hot Sauce

*If you want to save on time, you can purchase a pre-made flatbread from the grocery store.

    To caramelize the onions, melt butter in a pan over medium heat and add onions. Cook for up to 40 minutes, or to desired doneness.

    In a separate pan, cook bacon until roughly halfway done. Remove from pan.

    Add spinach leaves to the pan and sauté for just a few seconds.

    Stretch dough into rectangular shape.

    Add mozzarella, bacon, onions, and spinach to flatbread.

    In an oven preheated to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, bake flatbread for 15 minutes.

    Take flatbread out of the oven and drizzle with desired amount of Cholula Original Hot Sauce.
